The Holey Thumb

Matt smashed his finger in the door of our Tahoe. Those doors are really heavy, and kind of springy. The driver's door sprang back on his thumb. I think he wishes the story were cooler, but it's not.
It was very painful and swollen for a few days and he was really bothering him. My mom told him a childhood memory of her Dad using a tiny drill bit on her sister, Susan's finger once, to relieve the pressure. And right when we got home, he tried it.
Just twisting it with his fingers for a while until it went through some and started to bleed. It was hard to watch. He got the bit stuck in there for a minute and I had to walk away.
It started clotting really fast, so he had to get further through it. And once he did, there was a little tiny POP! And the air bubbles came through along the blood. Once it drained and stopping bleeding, the difference was immediate. The swelling/pressure went down and the his black nail pinked up a bit. The pain also decreased a lot! He will still lose the nail, but he could basketball after this, so all is well!
The hole is just too cool.
*Mia didn't like that he did this and made several comments on how SHE didn't want to  have to do this EVER and asking why he would do that! etc etc.
Both girls check on his wound numerous times throughout the day.

that is disgustingly awesome!! :) I love wounds. OK so I'm weird. But really? I would've been the one doing it to him, it's pretty sweet. I appreciate you posting this! Jaron had a hard time looking at it for very long. I'm glad he's feeling better though.
