Back to real life.

I'd say we've done quite well adjusting to life after Scout came. She's been such a good baby that occasionally Matt and I would forget she existed until we heard her grunt. But we all know there are different  levels of adjustment. We start out at survival. We think we are doing well - but then, we realize we're probably going to have to step it up a notch. Or five. The girls (and me) have been patiently awaiting the beginning of school (Mia is at her first day of Kindergarten today.) In the morning, I am often a little groggy and the girls pull me out of bed or they watch TV until I emerge. A couple weeks ago I woke up to Sam sitting in Scout's bouncer eating potato chips for breakfast. At least she got dressed. And Mia camped out with her thumb and blanket. Neither were responding to me much through their Curious George haze.
Realization.
Time to change it up.
No more chips for breakfast.
I am committing now. Or maybe tomorrow. We'll see.

I love this face.
Scout at 11 weeks old.
We are not going to talk about how she is trying to roll over. Cause it is NOT happening.

Mia loves to confiscate Scout so she and Sam can play house of some sort. Normally they are both pregnant in the beginning and then they both act as doctors while they magically have babies. Sometimes they get married first, other times they starts out as tragic widows. Sam tends to have several babies at a time and often sells some if it's too many - it's amazing how many births can happen in one day!! She also seems to be okay with always having a doll baby since she isn't allowed to hold Scout without help. Mia's baby is always Scout. Scout is always a good sport and seems to enjoy the attention.  We'll see if she wants to always be their baby as she gets older.

Oh my heck......I am totally reading my life!!!! Unfortunately Foster has to be your Sam in this game. He usually doesn't mind being the dad or big brother though!
