August, September, October....and the months continue to pass.

Lately I've been torn between enjoying all the moments of my life vs. recording all the moments in my life. I guess it's a constant battle. But either way, I've been enjoying them, despite my lack of records. So I will at least do a bit of recording.
Samantha has been her usual whirlwind of movement and entertainment lately. She never stops. And she never stops growing.
She has been officially potty training and it always makes my babies seem older when they are diaper-less and communicating so much. Mia has done 50% of the potty training with Sam, and she's taken the responsibility upon herself very seriously. She asks Sam at least 3 times a day, "Sam, do you need to go bathroom?" And they will go in the bathroom together, close the door, and use the facilities, Mia assisting Sam when needed, and of course discussing all sorts of bodily functions. It seems a funny thing to bond over, but ever since they started, it's been something they don't fight over and something they both take seriously.
It just makes me smile every time.
A couple morning ago the girls work up early and before Matt went to work he told them to stay in their room and play for a little while so I could sleep longer. (I really like to sleep.) As 8am they crept into my room and woke me up. Mia was completely ready for school, holding the bow she wants in her hair. Samantha was standing there in clean underwear, smiling her biggest smile.
Mia said, "I got her jammies and diaper off mom, and took her to the bathroom. She went poop, but I wiped her, and we are all good. Will you make us some breakfast?"
I thought I may be dreaming. :) What a helpful little child she's become!
Sam helped me clean my salon for an hour this morning. Mia was at preschool and my schedule started a little later than normal. She used Clorox wipes and paper towels to clean my chair and mini fridge. And each time she cleaned something she got a peppermint patty to reward herself for a job well done. Then she filed her nails and pretended to cure them under the UV light. "Mom, will you change dis song, I don't yike it. I want Untown Gurl. I'm doin my nails. When I done, I clean the bafoom wid you."
I love the opportunity to spend time with her one and one lately. She talks non stop when she has anyone undivided attention and plays very well on her own.
Back to work now...my break is over.

So cute, Elisa. I totally laughed at the 'dreaming' part. That's amazing!! You're very smart to record the small yet important and very memorable moments. They go away WAY too soon.
