Orem Summerfest 2011

There is only one way to face Orem's Summerfest when you're married to Matt Sandgren. aka, Lover Of Large Crowds. ha! (well, me too. but mostly for him...)

Small tangent... I still think Matt coned me somehow when we were dating, but I haven't figured out when it was. I swear I was getting a fun lovin social guy that enjoyed any activity, games, and all sorts of family fun! But for some reason it wasn't that surprising when I realized, I married my DAD. Go figure. If it were up to Matt, he would hide from people, especially large groups, most of the time. No games please!!! "Just leave me to my music and fully stocked garage, and I'll be super happy. Oh, and make me some cookies please!"

Luckily, it's not up to him. It's up to the three females he lives with. So, we plan things and drag him all around with us, trying to plan it so he can handle the fun! And of course, HE IS A GREAT SPORT. Normally having more fun than he anticipated.

Back to Summerfest, You have to go when the people aren't there!  We go on Saturday morning at about 11. Even though they say the rides don't open until noon. They are open early. There are no lines, it's not hot yet and all the strange people aren't there yet!

The girls LOVE LOVE LOVE the rides and it's fun to let them go on whatever they want. We had a great time spending the day just our little family!

It's really fun that Mia likes the bigger rides! She's kinda crazy! Matt and I switched on and off going on them with her and she would've done that all day!

I don't know what's wrong with this picture! I was worried this ride would scare her, but nope! She wanted Matt to turn it faster and faster!

On the ferris wheel! (We remembered we don't like ferris wheels...)

Lunch on our quiet shaded grassy corner. 

"Mom let's do pon pon in my hair with my big bows cause it's special cassion!" 

Sam is always taking full advantage of the drinks.  

And the cheetos. Pretty much anything orange! Doesn't she look like a little punk! 

After lunch, people start pouring in and we head out real fast!!! :)

Later in the evening we watched the parade with our friends and the kids really enjoyed it. Parades bore the heck out of me and Matt, so it was a good thing we had friends there! The girls sure love that stuff though, so we'll go for them.
