I have lots of updates but nothing as important as the news that Mia Jane is now POTTY TRAINED!!! Yeah! She did much better than expected. It was 4 days of very consistant training, and she was good. It's all about the consistancy! (and the walking about naked for like a week!) Now she is doing all her business on her own whenever and wherever! This makes me very happy! However, the big downside (as most people know) is the stupid need she feels to go into every bathroom thats available to her. Target, Costco, Mall, restuarants, etc..
"Does this store have a bafroom momma?"
Yes Mia.
"I fink I need to go baferoom momma."
great mia...
Its not the time suck that bugs me, although that is also annoying. Its that everytime we go in any bathroom, she wants to touch Everything!!!! NOW-I'm not really much of a germiphobe. (sp?) Matt and I share food and cups often, I'm not weird about my towels being touches by other people, and sometimes I invoke the 5 second rule when dropping certain things on the floor. HOWEVER, even though it's not something I think about constantly, in a public restroom, I don't touch anything you don't HAVE to touch and I always wash and sanitize my hands. And when you take a toodler in the dirty restroom, you realize how much of EVERYTHING gets touched! The seat, the walls, the doors, "oh look, something on the floor, let's pick it up!" AHHHH! Gross Mia! SO, what I'm getting at, is that with my girls I certainly have gotten much more cautious with the public germs! Sammie has had three colds in the last 6 weeks and I'm so sick of her nose running and her not sleeping! She has such a crappy ammune system, she gets everything! So I've become the mom that carries all this in her purse:
I wipe down cart handles before pushing them, I clean my kids hands when we leave places/stores, I rewipe table off before eating off of them. I dread going into the flu season when Sammie has been sick most of Fall already! Lets hope this will possibly help a bit... and not make me crazy in the process.

I totally feel you except I haven't started potty training. I am just a crazy person when it comes to germs. I over think them (germs), they creep me out. haha. I give them faces.
Yay Mia for being potty-trained. Yay Liza for surviving through potty-training. That is one thing that really is beyond me at this point. I'm not too crazy about germs either but public bathrooms are just nasty. Let's face it. NASTY. At least you are prepared with all the needed supplies!
This whole thing made me laugh. Since having kids (so going on 12 years now), I am a self proclaimed germ freak. Kirk is even worse than I am. Welcome to the club! :-) Congrats on training Mia! Yay!
I totally cannot keep up with your blog. How do you have time to post so often? I love it! ANd I want to know how you potty trained so quickly. I'm ready to pull my hair out with Cutler, and put him back in diapers. I can't stand it any longer!!!
Lol, I always feel behind on blog! Sometimes I cheat. On tuesday night matt plays basketball with a bunch of friends and i try not to take clients so I take blog, write in my journal and edit pictures. It's really one of my only times to do it. So often I will do a few posts at a time and date them throughout the week so it's always updating. I don't know why I do that, I just do...
The potty training was crazy. I tried a couple times and couldn't handle it so I stopped. I had to do it at a time that I couldn't OH SO diligent. Some of my friends had told me I just had to let her live in just a shirt for days and wear no underwear or anything, which really wigged me out, but it totally worked. In the beginning, if she wore underwear and pants, she would just forget and go. So if we were home, she was just naked. Then it became a habbit and we started with the underwear. She of course still wears a diaper at night, but it has gone well. I hear that boys are much harder though, so that could be part of it!
