Christmas 2008

Christmas was wonderful, of course. Lots of fun family time. Unfortunately, Mia got sick a day before Christmas and wasn't a bundle of joy for Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. But she came out of it by the evening and was able to enjoy parts of it. I had to put this first picture of her up because this totally describes how she was acting all evening. Bossy, demanding, bratty, and plain didn't feel good. We were glad when she went to bed happily, even though we were sleeping at my parent's, and it was an unfamiliar bed.

William as Joseph, Mia as Mary (she wouldn't let us dress her up...), and Piper as Baby Jesus.
Uncle Jeddy was a great Shepherd, he even shared his sheep with Mary.
The whole Thompson Nativity
We were up around 6:30 to open presents, as usual, but let Mia sleep in cause we knew she wouldn't be a happy camper at 6:30am! But when she woke after 8, she still wasn't happy. She switched between Daddy and uncle Aaron for a couple hours and didn't want anything to do with anyone else. And yelled us every time we asked if she wanted to open a present. "NO!"We just let her slowly discover the things Santa left her and she was happy about it when she did. Her new baby and armchair have been quite a big hit.
The other big hit, was Angie's awesome sword. Her husband knows her very well. This will go on the wall in her library. She LOVED it.

Once Mia started coming around, she opened her Winnie the Pooh animals, she was thrilled with them. This is her favorite show right now and she's been carrying them around one by one ever since.
"Pigit!!"
"Pooh!"

The new trucks Grandma Thompson gave her. She knows dad thinks these are cool and wanted to show him right away.
The Magna Doodle Grandma Sandgren gave her was also big hit!
Cute cousin Ella playing with her puzzle.
This was the next morning when she was feeling much better and was very happy to find her new toys were still here. She immediately started reading her new books to her new baby (who she's been calling baby Jesus) in her new chair! She's also wearing her new Tigger Jammie's, that she loved! I'm super grateful for new toys because she keeps herself much happier with them!
For some reason I didn't get pictures of Matt and I opening our gifts. Matt did such a great job picking presents for me. He got me new shoes that I desperately needed and an awesome North Face vest and my parents got me a double stroller (yikes!! I'll have to use it soon!). Matt got some great clothes, some garage decorations (i.e. Carmaro memorabilia), and snowboarding passes and of course other nic nacs and stocking stuffers. We were all spoiled and spoiled each other, it was a fun christmas.

Having someone not feeling well in the family during Christmas is the worst! I'm glad that she was able to enjoy her new things later. Such a cute little chair!
